How to use NOW in Excel

The Now function, returns the current date and time. Its important to remember that this value is static and only updates when the formula is manually updated or the sheet/workbook is refreshed.

Syntax

= NOW ()

If this example was created on the 1st of January 2001 it would return the following:

This formula can be combined with another date cell to calculate the difference between the two dates, for example, the following will return the number of days between the 1st of January 2001 and today.

Word and Excel don’t usually get along too well so it's no surprise that Power Query isn't directly compatible with its estranged cousin Word either.
